Wilcock, John

Lancaster, Lancs.; cabinet maker (fl.1826-1850)

A wide variety of furniture made by John Wilcock was recorded in the Gillow’s Estimate Sketch Books from c.1826-50. An Albuera wood music stand or what-not has been recorded, impressed GILLOW on the edge of the drawer and signed and dated in pencil ‘John Wilcock Novr. 5th' underneath it (illus. Stuart (2008), pl. 658). An identical music stand in satinwood was made by John Wilcock for John Carlisle Esq. in July 1849.
