Walworth, London; upholsterer, cabinet maker, chairmaker, japanner and Venetian blind manufacturer (fl.1809–45)
Ward was situated at 11 Saville Row, Walworth in 1809. Described in February 1813 as a ‘dwelling house, warehouse, shop & shed’ valued at £400; stock and utensils £100; and similar items in an open yard valued at £50. By 1820 he had moved to 1 Saville Road. His specialism in japanning appears to have developed from the mid 1820s.
By 1826 he had moved to 24 Garden Row, London Road, where he remained until 1839. He then moved to 23 Saville Road and was also recorded at 13 Manor Place, Walworth. In the 1845 London Post Office Directory he was listed as an upholsterer at 2 Saville Row, Walworth Road.
