Sir Thomas Vesey (Bishop of Ossory) bought a dozen chairs from Edward Verdon in 1719 for £5 8s. The suite was completed with two elbow chairs with caned seats, which cost £l 16s. (see Barnard, Making the Grand Figure, p. 125).
