Thomas, Owen & Harri

Tal-y-bryn, Denbighshire, Wales; lipp worker (fl.c.1750-c.1811)

Notebooks of this maker survive detailing his work as a maker of artefacts of plaited straw (lipp-work), including furniture. In the mid-18th century he produced about 100 bee skeps a year as well as a few chairs. He was succeeded by his son Harri who in 1811 recorded the making and sale of a chair for 4s. 6d. and a further two for 3s. 6d.
