Thomas, John (1877)

Thomas, John

Newcastle Emlyn, Carmarthenshire, Wales; cabinet maker (fl. 1877)

This man’s name has been found inscribed on an oak chest of drawers dated 1877. The inscription reads ‘John Thomas Cabinet Maker Newcastle Emlyn August 21st 1877’. The chest is also inscribed by William Phillips, and it is thought that both men might have been employed in the workshop of Evan Mathias of Newcastle Emlyn.
