Tennant, James

Lancaster, Lancs.; cabinet maker (fl.1828-1839)

The son of Thomas Tennant, cabinet maker, he was apprenticed to Leonard Redmayne in March 1828 and became freeman of Lancaster on 28 October 1837. He was listed in Gillow’s Petty Ledger for 1832-39. He made a mahogany writing table in February 1839 for Gillows and several pieces are illustrated in their Estimate Sketch Books.
