Taylor, John

Grantham, Lincs.; turner and chair maker (fl.1826-50)

Listed at Swinegate in 1826, Manford Rd in 1835 and Manthorpe Rd in 1841. Aged 55 at the time of the 1841 Census. Windsor chairs recorded bearing the stamp of ‘J. TAYLOR, GRANTHAM’, on top of seat toward back. Listed in Slater’s General Directory 1850. Possibly the John Taylor who apprenticed William Shirley, sometime before 1815.
