Stanford or Standford, Thomas
London; cabinet maker and upholder (fl. 1816?–27)
At 19 Queen St, Soho in 1822 and 3 Windmill St, Tottenham Ct Rd, 1826–27. He may be the Standford who was employed by George Bullock as his foreman before he set up on his own. In a letter to Bullock of 1816 the joiners in his factory complained that in his absence Mr Standford had been giving preference to the cabinet makers over the joiners. The letter is illustrated in Wood, Furniture History Newsletter (May 2009), fig.1.
