Spriggs, William
London; cabinet maker, knife case maker, shagreen case maker (b. 1746–1808).
Born at Chelmsford in 1746 and apprenticed to John T. Castall of Wood Street, Cheapside, London in 1759.
He later established his own business in Old Fish Street and was listed at 47 Friday Street (1793) and 1 Silver Street (1802–08).
A tortoiseshell veneered tea caddy is known in a private collection with a late 19th-century written note attributing it to this maker.
