Spearing, David

Shaftesbury, Dorset; upholder, joiner and cabinet maker (fl. 1760-62)

The Duke of Somerset's accounts record a payment of £62 on 29 August 1760 'Mr Spearing in full of all demds: for Upholsterers Work, &c'. 

In 1761 he bound an apprentice named Cooper.

The estate and household accounts of John Bloxham, Steward to the Lord Bruce (later Marquess of Ailesbury) at Tottenham Park record Spearing's supply to the  Marquess of Ailesbury at Tottenham Park on 27 July 1762, 'Paid to Spearing the Upholder by bill of Chairs Drawers etc, £39.6.0' [Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre (WSHC) 1300/4045, 1752–65].
