Sisson, John

Dublin, Ireland; joiner and cabinet maker (fl.1682-1732)

Son of John Sisson, butcher, made Freeman of the City of Dublin as a Joiner by Birth, Michaelmas 1681.

Sisson was Master of the Joiners’ Guild from 1700 to 1701.

Recorded in Abbey Street, 1682-1705.

Sisson executed the joinery of the Long Room at Trinity College Dublin, as well as two staircases to the Gallery, 1726-32. The carver was ‘Turner’ and the carpenter was Isaac Wills.
