They were recorded in the Gillow’s 1834-39 Petty Ledger. Ellen Shrigley and James Williamson took on five apprentices from 1838-54: Edward Parkinson 1838, John Dickinson 1839, John Hesketh Smith 1841, James Edmundson and William Stewardson 1842. Ellen Shrigley bound three apprentices jointly with Joseph Shrigley from 1852-58.
