Seyffert was recorded as ‘cabinetmaker, upholsterer and undertaker’ at 18 Wells Street in the Post Office Directories 1827 and 1829. He was then listed as ‘upholsterer and picture dealer’ at 77 Wardour Street in Kelly’s Directory 1844 and as a ‘curiosity dealer’ at the same address in 1845 and 1849. By 1852 he recorded as a ‘general dealer’.
