Rowlands, Richard & John

Richard Rowlands had premises in Dean Street, Bangor, later occupied by his son John. John was recorded in directories of the 1840s, although he also owned a smallholding six miles east of the town at Ty’n derw near Abergwyngregyn. A chest of drawers has been recorded impressed in several placed ‘J Rowlands’ and with pencil inscriptions: ‘J Rowlands tyn derw Aber’ and ‘Aberwaengregin’ (illus, Bebb (2007), fig. 1083).
