In December 1884, Robertson & Colman participated in the Norfolk & Norwich Christmas Show, in Norwich, where they exhibited fumigated oak furniture, a dining room suite and a drawing room suite in Sheraton style [The Furniture Gazette, 13 December 1884].
The firm advertised for a wood turner to work in the chair department [The Furniture Gazette, 1 March 1885] and were listed in The Furniture Gazette: Classified List of the Furniture, Upholstery, and Allied Trades (1886)
In 1886 they furnished and decorated an elegant suite of apartments for the Prince & Princess of Wales’ visit to the Royal Agricultural Society’s Show, Norwich. The luncheon room was furnished in polished oak pieces and chairs covered in prepared pig skin whilst the reception room featured rich velvet saddlebag chairs and fancy tables. The private rooms were also elegantly furnished [The Furniture Gazette, 1 August 1886].
Robertson & Colman exhibited furniture at the ‘Christmas Fat Cattle Show’ in Norwich, 1887[The Furniture Gazette, 1 December 1887].
A bill (above) dated 1890, for Robertson & Colman, furniture manufacturers, upholsterers, carpet factors, decorators and paper hangers at 3 Queen Street with cabinet factory at Elm Hill, is included in the Graham Gadd Archive (NMS).
