Rees, William

Henllan, Cardiganshire, Wales; turner (fl.c.1900-c.1930)

The Rees family of Henllan in the Teifi valley were long established woodworkers of whom William Rees was one of the last. He combined turning with running his farm, and about 1910 acquired his first mechanical lathe. He sold his wares at Carmarthen market as late as 1930 (illus. Bebb (2007), fig, 1219).
