Read, William (1818-1851)
Read, William
Leicester, Leicestershire & Birmingham, Warwickshire; cabinet maker (fl.1818-51)
Read (born 1793), married the cabinet maker Joshua Howes’ daughter, Sarah, in 1818 and was recorded at Silver Street (1826) and Swine's Market (1832 & 1835).
In early 1838 he was described as journeyman cabinet maker, and was declared insolvent. This probably led to his move (by 1841) to Birmingham to be close to his wife's brother, George Howes.
In 1847 Read was recorded back in Leicester at Morledge Street.
The 1851 census recorded Sarah’s father, Joshua, was living with the Read family.
