Powell, William (1738-53)
Powell, William, Three Kings Ct, facing George Yd, Lombard St, London, upholder (1738–d. 1753). A substantial business whose insurance cover in March 1750 amounted to £2,000 of which three quarters was for stock-in-trade and household goods. He died in May 1753 and was described as ‘an eminent upholder & cabinet maker’. His widow carried on the business from the same address and was still active in 1765.
