Piercy, John (1804-1825)

Piercy, John

17 Titchborne Street, Piccadilly, London; carver, gilder and picture frame maker (fl. 1804–25)

In 1825 the business is listed as John Piercy & Son. The son was probably Edward Piercy who is shown trading independently at 5 Denmark Street, Strand in 1808 and is recorded in directories 1820–33 at the Titchborne Street address.

John Piercy is almost certainly the ‘Percy’ recorded in the account books of Edward, Viscount Lascelles and who supplied goods to Harewood House, Hanover Square, London. He is described as a frame maker and was paid £20 12s 6d on 5 July 1804 and £6 6s 6d on 18 February 1806 [Leeds archives department, Harewood MS 190, 192].
