Patterson, James (1747-64)

Patterson, James, parish of St George the Martyr, London, turner, dealer and chapman (1747–64). Bankruptcy announced, London Gazette, 18–25 September 1764. He was probably the James Patterson who supplied goods to Gibside, Co. Durham, and the London house of the Bowes family. The furniture items included a ‘fine Nursing Chair’ on 1 March 1748 at 6s 6d; ‘a neat fine Square Cradle’ on 6 March 1748 at £1 11s 6d; and ‘three matted chairs’ at 10s 6d, ‘a Peruke block and stand’ at 5s and ‘4 chairs’ at 16s in 1755–56.
