J. Oppenheim was listed at 3 & 4 Terrace Market, Jew Street, Bread Street, Penzance in The Furniture Gazette Directory (1877) and The Furniture Gazette: Classified List of the Furniture, Upholstery, and Allied Trades (1886).
He participated in the Penzance Industrial and Art Exhibition in September 1882, where he arranged furniture in a drawing room and bedroom settings. The drawing room exhibits were of gold & walnut in the Queen Anne style and other exhibits were of carved oak [The Furniture Gazette, 30 September 1882]. Oppenheim also installed a yacht interior in his furniture mart, displaying furnished divisions of a cabin, saloon, steward’s pantry and deck [The Furniture Gazette, 20 September 1884].
I. Oppenheim (probably related to J. or a misprint) exhibited furniture at the St. Just Polytechnic Exhibition, 1888 [The Furniture Gazette, 1 December 1888].
