Oliver, Charles

Spalding, Lincs.; clock-case maker (fl. 1812–42)

In 1812 advertised in local newspaper for a journeyman clock case maker. Listed in directories 1828, 1835 and 1842. Two labelled clock cases by this maker have been recorded (illus. Jones, Regional Furniture (1993), pp. 105-6). The label reads ‘OLIVER Clock-Case Maker SPALDING’, and both dials are signed Thomas Wilson, Spalding.
