The Furniture Gazette, 26 July 1884, recorded that the firm displayed a ‘neat’ bedroom suite at the Forestry International Exhibition, Edinburgh, 1884.  The firm was listed as cabinet makers in The Furniture Gazette: Classified List of the Furniture, Upholstery, and Allied Trades (1886).

A bill (above) dated 1887 for Thomas Murdoch & Son (late Thomas Murdoch), cabinet maker, upholsterer and undertaker at 9 West Maitland Street, for the sale of the upper part of bookshelves, is included in the Graham Gadd Archive (NMS).
