Recorded first in partnership with John Harris, 1758-59, and after Harris' death continued the business at Leadenhall Street, 1763–70; 119 Aldersgate Street, 1767–75; and Cheapside in 1792.

He was named as a Fellow of the Society for Arts and Manufactures, 1761–67.

In 1762 he employed six non-freemen for three months; in 1763, two for three months; and in 1764, six for six weeks [Guildhall Library, City Licence books, vols 3 and 4].
