Maker of furniture with portraits and scenes on black marble by an etching process which bleached the black, without losing its polish, to various tones of what was called ‘an agreeable drab colour’ [M. Digby Wyatt, Industrial Arts of the Nineteenth Century (1851), Vol. II, plate CIII].
