Moon, William

Lancaster, Lancs., or Oxford Street, London; cabinet maker (app.1827)

He was apprenticed to Gillows of Lancaster and Oxford St. on 7 April 1827. A set of four chairs all stamped ‘MOON’ were offered for sale at Christie's South Kensington, lot 67. 27 November 1996. They were described as: 'Each with a deep back-scrolled top-rail, on Ionic capital reeded uprights and Ionic capitals, the drop in seat covered in striped fabric above a channelled seat-rail on ring turned tapering legs...’. Perhaps this maker or one of the same family?
