Addresses given at 19 Leigh St in 1818; 28 Basnett St in 1820; 3 Houghton St in 1823; and 2 Houghton St and 4 Newington Bridge in 1824. In April 1817 Joseph Miller, was paid £19 for ‘carving window cornices’ for Liverpool Town Hall; recorded as carver and gilder of 28 Basnett St in 1820. On 12 February 1820 he received a payment of £40 and the balance of £7 12s on 7 April from the Corporation Treasurer 'on account for carving claws and pillars of Mahogany Dining Tables' in the dining room of Liverpool Town Hall (illus., Dean, Furniture History (1989), fig. 13). He received a payment from the Corporation Treasurer on 20 June 1820 of £8 8s which may have been for the carving of the ribbed lids of the wine coolers also in the Liverpool Town Hall dining room (illus., Dean, Furniture History (1989), figs 12a and 12b).
