Listed at 57 Bishopsgate Street Within in The Furniture Gazette Directory, 1876 & 1877 and at both addresses in The Furniture Gazette: Classified List of the Furniture, Upholstery, and Allied Trades (1886). 

Lyle applied for a patent for portable folding tables and other furniture on 23 November 1877 [The Furniture Gazette, 8 December 1877].  They were awarded a bronze medal for the folding furniture they showed at the International Inventions Exhibition, South Kensington in 1885 [The Furniture Gazette, 1 September 1885]. 

J. G. Lyle (probably associated with the firm) exhibited at the Westminster Industrial Exhibition. The adjudicator reported that he showed ingenuity in constructing folding furniture, which would be of interest to refreshment contractors [The Furniture Gazette, 16 August 1879].
