Lancaster, Lancs?; chair maker (fl.1816)

A set of ten Regency mahogany chairs in the manner of Gillow were inscribed ‘R O Lowthar’, ‘Shilner’, ‘John Lodge Upholsterer April 22nd 1828’ and ‘Varley Cater Novr. 15th 1816’; (sold Christie's 21 May 1981, lot 9).
