Loder was listed in The Furniture Gazette Directory, 1877. He participated in the Furniture Exhibition, Islington, 1881 [The Furniture Gazette, 6 August 1881]. He advertised his business as an ‘art’ style cabinet manufacturer and timber & veneer merchant with goods in ‘brown oak in solid and veneer’ [The Furniture Gazette, 13 August 1881 & 8 July 1882]. 

In 1884 his address was 1 North Villas, North Place and North Place Timber Yard and Cabinet Manufactory, Selkirk Terrace, Cheltenham, when issued a notice of indemnity for £1,061 to A. Shirer, filed on 28 July 1884. Following a bankruptcy/liquidation receiving order, a composition order of 7s 6d was agreed [The Furniture Gazette, 16 & 23 August 1884]. 

He had apparently recovered by 1886 when listed in The Furniture Gazette: Classified List of the Furniture, Upholstery, and Allied Trades (1886).
