Langer was listed in London Post Office Directories 1882, 1891 & 1902 as a cane & bamboo worker, chair & sofa maker and window blind maker.  He was also recorded as a maker of cane and wicker goods in The Furniture Gazette: Classified List of the Furniture, Upholstery, and Allied Trades (1886).

He regularly advertised in The Furniture Gazette commencing with the issue of 10 July 1880. The Furniture Gazette, 5 November 1881, wrote that Langer made his furniture primarily in bamboo including etageres, whatnots, fire & folding screens, gongstands, jardinieres, corner shelving etc. and used cane for blinds.
