Took apprentices Daniel Hubbard, 20/6/1800, £40 (5 yrs); Benjamin Long, 22/2/1803, £20 (6 yrs); John Hennings, 5/5/1806, £9 (5 yrs) (John Lacey jun.).

1818: "John Lacey, Cabinet and Chair Maker, Upholsterer, &c. Returns…thanks…begs leave…he has qualified himself as an Auctioneer and Appraiser…soliciting for the same liberal support in that line as he has experienced in the former…North Walsham..." [Norwich Mercury, 26/12/1818].

Directories: 1822, 1830 cabinet maker, upholsterer.

1831: "Lacey's Insolvency. Mr. John Lacey, of North Walsham, in Norfolk, Cabinet Maker, having assigned all his personal Estate and Effects to Trustees for the equal benefit of his Creditors..." [Norwich Mercury, 3/12/1831].

1833: "The Court for the Relief of Insolvent Debtors…Prisoners hereinafter named…John Lacey, late of North Walsham…cabinet-maker, since of the same place, out of business." [Norwich Mercury, 23/2/1833].
