Kent, William (1704-85)

Kent, William, Exeter, Devon, cm (b. 1704–d. 1785). Died in November 1785 aged 81. He had recently retired from the trade and was said to have been in business ‘more than fifty years’. The size of the business is difficult to ascertain but already in the late 1740s William Kent owned property in the city including houses tenanted to others.
