Made free 2 April 1784. Jones was recorded 'At back of 33 Mersey Street' (1790); 48 Frederick Street (1796); 30 Upper Frederick Street (1804); 21 Scotland Road (1805); 5 Wood Street (1810); and 6 Wood Street (1811).

His three sons, Thomas Jones jnr, carver and gilder; Owen, musician; and David, cabinet maker, all petitioned for freedom by patrimony [Freemen registers and committee book].
