Johnson, William

Lincoln; joiner and cabinet maker (1733–d.1761)

Undertook work for Lord Monson in 1733 and 1741–42 at Burton. Most of the work undertaken was general carpentry and repairs but included some simple furniture such as a night table at 18s invoiced on 7 September 1742 and two large walnut arm chairs on 11 September at 16s each. William Johnson took apps named Eubulus Thorold Darwin in 1757, and John Portwood probably earlier.

William died in 1761 and his son Thomas, also a cabinet maker and joiner, took over his apprentice, probably Darwin.
