Jerritt, James

Well Street, Barnstaple, Devon; cabinet maker and upholsterer (fl.1820–57)

James Jerrit and his wife, Maria (b.1786–d.1854) had three children: Frederick, Betsey (b.1820), and Caroline. One of his daughters was seven years of age in 1826 when assaulted by a sixteen-year-old apprentice, Thomas Smith, committed to the borough gaol in August 1826 for the offence [Exeter Flying Post, 17 August 1826].

James Jerritt was recorded at his residence in Well Street (1857). 

Possibly James Jerritt of Bristol who declared bankruptcy in 1804
