William Hulse was recorded at Icknield Square when he was charged with pirating a registered design of the foot-end of an iron bedstead from Messrs Lane & Champion, William Edward Street, Birmingham. The judge deemed there could not have been an infringement and the case was dismissed [The Furniture Gazette, 14 April 1877].
The Furniture Gazette, 1 December 1885, recorded that William & W. A. Hulse [probably W. & A. Hulse] had the telegraphic address of ‘Hulse, Birmingham’.
W. & A. Hulse was listed in The Furniture Gazette: Classified List of the Furniture, Upholstery, and Allied Trades (1886) and The Furniture Gazette, 15 September 1891, recorded a fire at their premises.
