In 1876 Hughes established a partnership with James (presumably his brother or son) at 194 Euston Road, with a manufactory at 20-23, 28 & 34 Southampton Mews, where they were listed as wholesale looking & toilet glass manufacturer,s cabinet makers and silverers by the ‘old process’. They also made chimney pieces in oak, walnut or black & gold [The Furniture Gazette, 1 January 1881].
