How worked at Kew Palace and the Wren City Churches as partner of John Boson [Connoiseur, June 1981, p. 144].

He also carried out work for Sir Richard Hoare (1731–36), receiving £23 12s 6d on 21 December 1731; and £24 11s 11d in November 1732 for work on a chimney and glass frames, cornice and wainscotting; and carving and gilding two pedestals for candles supplied to Barn Elms House. In March 1736 How charged Sir Richard £3 14s for carving and gilding picture frames.
