Horrocks, Alexander

London; upholder and undertaker (fl. 1699–d. by 1731)

Admitted a freeman of the Upholders’ Company by redemption on 1 September 1699. He bound his son, Christopher Horrocks, as apprentice on 1 July 1719 and his son, John Horrocks was admitted a freeman in 1731 [Guildhall Library, Upholders’ Company records].

Probably the same Alexander Horrocks recorded as an upholder and undertaker at ‘The White Bear’, against Gray's Inn Gate, Holborn, London, 1724–312. Trade card and contemporary press notice recorded by Ambrose Heal.
