Lancaster, Lancashire; house carpenter, joiner and cabinet maker (1770)

The son of Ann Holmes, widow, of Sedburgh, North Yorkshire.

Holmes was apprenticed from 27 January 1770 for seven years to Edward Batty, house carpenter, joiner and cabinet maker.
