Holmes, John

Lancaster, Lancashire; joiner and house carpenter (fl.c.1768-1780)

In partnership with William Nicholson, with whom he took the following apprentices: Ralph Bentley (1768); William Petty of Ingleton, son of an ostler (1769); Joseph Petty, son of a labourer of Ingleton (1772); and George Robinson (1775). 

Holmes and Nicholson were recorded in the Gillow Archive, 344/51, p. 155, 317, 344/52, p. 33.

John Holmes joiner was recorded in the Gillow’s Journal for 1776-80, 344/52, p. 189.
