Hiller, Robert (1710-1720)

Hiller, Robert

London; upholder, freeman (fl.1710-20)

Robert Hiller was admitted a freeman of the Upholders’ Company on 2 August 1710. He apprenticed his son, Edward Hiller, 1710–20/21 [Guildhall Library, Upholders’ Company archive].

This was probably the same Robert Hiller recorded in St Olave's Street (1716–17) when insuring his house on 2 January with the Sun Company. He also purchased two Hand in Hand insurance policies on the19 May 1720: one for £50 on a house in Walnuttree Alley and the other for £100 on a house in St Olave's Street [Guildhall Library, Sun MS vol. 6, ref. 7721; GL, Hand in Hand MS vol. 22, p. 42].
