Thomas Harding was listed as a chair & couch manufacturer in The Furniture Gazette Directory, 1876 & 1877. He participated in both the 1881 and 1882 Furniture Exhibition at the Agricultural Hall in Islington [The Furniture Gazette, 13 August 1881 & 25 March 1882]. Also at the Furniture Exhibition, Humphreys Hall, Albert Gate, Hyde Park, London, 1883, with a display of church chairs with rush & wood seats, chairs suitable for public halls and an ebonised suite with rushed seats in the Early English style [The Furniture Gazette, 1 September 1883]. 

Harding advertised in The Furniture Gazette, 8 September 1883.  The 29 March 1884 edition recorded Harding’s tender of £144 was accepted for the supply of chairs to the infirmary for the Guardians of Fulham.  

He waslisted as ecclesiastical furniture, chair & couch furniture manufacturer at 1 Church Gate, Stokenchurch in The Furniture Gazette: Classified List of the Furniture, Upholstery, and Allied Trades (1886) and was recorded as exhibiting at the Architectural and Building Trades’ Exhibition, Agricultural Hall, Islington, in March 1887 [The Furniture Gazette, 1 April 1887].
