The partnership of James Harding & Sons, cabinet makers & upholsterers, was dissolved with J. Harding leaving and the remaining partners, James, William & Nathan Harding responsible for the firm’s debts [The Furniture Gazette, 26 August 1876].

James Harding & Sons were listed at 3 Mill Street in The Furniture Gazette Directory, 1877. The partnership of William & Nathan was dissolved in November 1883 with William continuing the business [The Furniture Gazette, 10 & 17 November 1883]. In 1886 William (still trading as James Harding & Son) received orders for bankruptcy followed by a Court Examination in connection with the bankruptcy and claims by his brother and sister, both who invested in his business. The examination was adjourned and subsequently a first dividend of 4s was issued [The Furniture Gazette, 1 March, 1 June & 1 November 1886].
