A mahogany clothes press, c.1800 bearing a label inscribed: ‘Halse's UPHOLSTERY & CABINET MANUFACTORY High Street, Oxford. Appraiser & Auctioneer’ was sold at Christie's, 29 June 1978, lot 75. Another clothes press of the same date is illus. Regional Furniture (1993), p.17.
