Gunston, Thomas

Dublin, Ireland; joiner, cabinet maker and upholsterer (fl.1734-1772)

Freeman of the City of Dublin as a Joiner by Service, Midsummer 1722. He was elected Master of the Joiners’ Guild from 1735 to 1736.

In 1736 and 1747 he was elected onto the Dublin Common Council for the Upholders’ Guild.

Recorded at Inn’s Quay, 1734-42; Capel Street, 1761-7. Gunston had a number of apprentices: Robert Wood as a joiner 1733, James Walsh as a joiner 1749, Joseph Harrison as a joiner 1751 and John White as a joiner 1772.
