Dublin, Ireland; upholder, joiner and cabinet maker (fl.1761-76)

The son of Thomas Gunston, made Freeman of the City of Dublin as a Joiner by Birth, Christmas 1753. Recorded at Inns Quay, 1761-67; 14 Arran Quay, 1768-76. Married Mary Hamilton, Parish of St Audoen's, 8 December 1753 [Parish Records Society of Dublin, vol. IX, p. 100].

In 1771 Gunston was elected onto the Dublin Common Council for the Joiners' Guild and was Master of the Joiners' Guild from 1768 to 1769. He also had a number of apprentices: Christopher Cruise, as a cabinet-maker, 1755; Samuel Kathrens, as a joiner, 1759; and John Country, as a cabinet-maker, 1763.
