Greaves, Timothy (1737-55)

Greaves, Timothy, Cambridge, joiner and cm (1737–55). Possibly related to Thomas Greaves. Recorded in 1737 taking the lease of a house in the parish of St Andrew. Worked for Trinity College, 1744–51, but few details are given of the work involved though he did repair a table. Worked at St John's College, 1748–49, and is probably the Greaves recorded in 1751. The two apps Marmaduke Whitred (free 8 January 1751) and Edward York (free 7 January 1755) recorded in the name of Thomas Greaves, probably received some of their training under Timothy. [Cambs.
