Gainsford & Co. won a bronze medal for a commercial writing desk they displayed at the International Inventions Exhibition. They also exhibited their patent parquet flooring which could be laid directly onto floor joints without a sub-floor [The Furniture Gazette, 1 June & 1 September 1885].
